Alex was excited to go to the beach but was horrified by all the seaweed in the water. He wouldn't get close enough to the water to fill his watering can because he thought it was "gross in there". He was even more horrified when he had to pee and his only choices were peeing in the water or in the outhouse. He spent about an hour dancing around saying he didn't have to pee anymore before he finally agreed to go pee in the sand in a corner of the beach.
